Therefore, His Airness decided to learn from his mistakes in his personal life as well and made sure not to repeat them. Michael Jordan married Juanita Vanoy in 1989. However, the couple called it quits in 2006. The separation became a talk of the town as Vanoy reportedly received a $168 million settlement from Michael Jordan. This was the largest celebrity divorce settlement at that time.
MJ eventually moved on from the relationship and later proposed to his girlfriend Yvette Prieto in 2011. The Bulls legend and the modelling sensation eventually got married in 2013. However, before walking in to the marriage this time, His Airness had in mind the multi-million dollar lesson he learnt from his previous marriage.
Michael Jordan and Juanita Vanoy didn’t have any pre-nuptial agreement. Therefore, when Jordan married Prieto, he made sure that his bride-to-be signed a pre-nuptial agreement, as per reports.
According to the prenup agreement, Yvette Prieto will reportedly receive $1million for every year that they were married, should the couple ever decide to call it quits. If the marriage lasts for 10 years, Yvette Prieto will receive $5million for every year she stayed with Jordan.
