As per reports, all special units in the Memphis Police Department are facing reviews and a deep internal investigation is in process. However, for the public, the fight now is for justice and keeping Nichols’ name alive in a bright light.

After his 38-point performance against the Oklahoma City Thunder, Curry took to Instagram to weigh in on the situation. He shared a post on his story that included details about Tyre Nichols. The multiple-slide post spoke about Nichols’ life, family, and friends. The caption of the post read, “Justice for Tyre”.

The graphic shared by the two-time champion revealed that Tyre was a skateboarder who had a keen interest in photography. His close ones spoke about his personality. They claimed that he was a free spirit who “marched to the beat of his own drum.” 

Following this, the slides contained details about how the police officers treated Nichols and included a reaction from his mother. A trigger warning was given. The Instagram handle encouraged people to protect their minds before reading more about the incident.

Meanwhile, LeBron James penned out his thoughts and stance on his Twitter handle. He wrote in all caps, “We are our worse enemy!!” On the other hand, NBA Legend Magic Johnson claimed that his wife and he were praying for Nichols’ family and friends.

Following these reactions, Chris Paul advocated putting a stop to police brutality. He wrote that his heart was with the Memphis community. He said, “Change is needed at all levels and we all need to do our part.” Athletes like Mike Conley, Isiah Thomas, Robert Griffin III, Bubba Wallace and more have voiced their thoughts as well.
