It seems like the Los Angeles Lakers have finally heard the demands of the fans. They made their first roster change by bringing in Rui Hachimura from Washington. His move arguably gave them a floor spacer as the Japanese star is a career 35% three-point shooter. In addition, his big body allows him to defend and stay vertical against most oppositions. However, despite the move, the Purple and Gold still have their first-round assets intact. Likewise, one NBA insider feels they should use them to crack a mega deal that might save their season.
The Lakers have had shooting struggles over the past couple of seasons. While LeBron James is proving to be superhuman, three-pointers are still a weakness of his. Notably, the King is shooting a career-low from beyond the arc this season. Their hopes rode along Anthony Davis who enjoyed his dominant stretch. But in typical fashion, the eight-time All-Star has struggled to stay healthy all year long.
As the franchise finally took efforts to make the necessary changes, Zack Buckley believes they can do more. Notably, he wants the Lakers to target Chicago Bulls’ Zach LaVine during the trade period.

Will the Lakers put it all on the line for Zach LaVine?
There has long been tension between LaVine and the Bulls according to several reports. Notably, the DeMar DeRozan, LaVine, and Nikola Vucevic ‘Big 3’ have arguably failed to deliver. The Bulls are currently 22-26 for the season. With the two-time dunk contest champion in only his first year of a five-year, $215 million max contract, Chicago has opened their minds to negotiations. With news of the Bulls looking to blow up the roster, this might be the chance for the Lakers to strike.
According to Zach Buckley of Bleacher Report, “If a star becomes available, they?ll have a non-zero chance of winning the bidding war. Should the Chicago Bulls decide this current core isn?t cutting it, they might be willing to unload LaVine and the mountain of money he?ll collect over at least the next three seasons.”
There have also been reports about LaVine himself wanting to don the purple and gold. As a UCLA product himself, LaVine has the LA blood coursing through him. The 17-time champions can send Russell Westbrook along with their unprotected first-round picks for LaVine and Coby White. While there is no guarantee if the Bulls accept, at this point of the season, the LeBron James-led franchise should probably take their chances.

How will LaVine fit with LeBron James and Anthony Davis?
The Bulls All-Star has grown far from being just an athletic guard. Don’t get it wrong, the 27-year-old is still a freak athlete. However, his offensive game has evolved into all three dimensions. Not only can he score at the rim, but Zach Lavine is a career 38.4% shooter. In addition, he can play both off the catch and create a shot of his own.
With LeBron James running the point, his court visions are among the most elite. Likewise, history proves the King thrives with shooters around. The additions of both Hachimura and Zach LaVine might just power the Lakers as contenders instantly. However, it will take a huge commitment from the front office to make any deal possible.
