D’Angelo Russell attended a post-game interview after the Lakers had won against the Warriors in Game-6. Russell scored 19 points in the game, which enabled the Lakers to successfully withstand Dennis Schr?der‘s third-quarter ejection.

Meanwhile, during his postgame interview, Russell sneaked in a bottle of Coco5 drink into the interview. However, the team’s staffer was quick to snatch it away from him because the NBA doesn’t allow the endorsement of unauthorized brands. And Coco5 does not have a deal with the league.

The whole fiasco ended up promoting the product in an indirect way, by drawing attention of the public to it. Phoenix Suns’ Devin Booker is the majority owner of the company.

However, this wasn’t the first time that Russell tried to sneak the drink in.

When Russell was asked to keep aside Coco5 in another postgame interview, he had refused to do so. He said, “It’s my partner. You gon have to fine me.” However, the staffer had snatched the drink away then too, triggering a fan-favorite ‘feud’ between the two.

When asked about this incident, Devin Booker said, “He gave it more light than I would have. It just sat there.”
