Charles Barkley featured in the NBA when the league was considered to be super rough. He was considered one of the best of his generation and even won the prestigious MVP award. The players who played in the 90s were seen as some of the toughest athletes in the world. Charles Barkley raised some eyebrows when he recently admitted that he realized that he was not as strong mentally as he thought he was when he encountered a movie project launched in 1971.

Charles Barkley currently features as a host on NBA on TNT alongside his former rivals Shaquille O’Neal and Ernie Johnson. In an interview given to Ernie Johnson, he opened up about his soft side.

Charles Barkley admits he’s not ‘Tough’

Charles Barkley made an appearance on the Steam Room hosted by Ernie Johnson. On being asked if there is a movie that makes Barkley tear up, he replied, “Oh, Yeah. Several movies make me tear up. I will get emotional. I will not act as if I am a tough guy.” He added, “Brian’s song (1971), Malcolm Lee when they killed him. Spike Lee shot out when they killed him in the auditorium that makes me emotional. Braveheart when they chop off Mel Gibson’s head.”?

Charles Barkley admitted that he is not ‘tough’ when it comes to some specific movie scenes. As it turns out beneath the massive 6’6″exterior of Barkley lies a gentleman with feelings. It was quite heartening to see the NBA legend admitting that he was no different from a regular individual. No one would have guessed that the man who was known for his violent encounters on the basketball court would tear up during an emotional movie scene.

Charles Barkley was more recently in the news, making strong claims about Anthony Davis and the Lakers.

Barkley heaps of praise on AD

Charles Barkley was in awe of Anthony Davis’s performance in game 1 of the NBA playoff. He scored a massive 30 points and pulled down 23 rebounds. On talking about what can the Golden State do to stop Davis, he said, “There’s nothing they can do about it.”?

Barkley believes the Golden State Warriors cannot neutralize the threat posed by AD. Davis proved to be too much for the Warriors. Steph Curry and Co weren’t able to deal with Anthony Davis’ physical stature. It remains to be seen what happens between the two teams in the upcoming week.
