March Madness inches closer to the finish line as the teams fight to find a spot in the final four. In the last few weeks, the hoops community witnessed a few dramatic games in the NBA and NCAA. The ball fans saw two top-seeded teams exiting the tournament midway. Notably, the tournament favorites, top-seeded Alabama failed to make it to the final four. Recently, NBA superstar Kevin Durant took to his social media to share comforting words after a team’s unexpected exit. 

Despite the criticisms that emerged on the tournament’s game quality, March Madness continued to entertain the American ball community. Especially takes from NBA stars and legends kept the games on the public radar. Notably, Charles Barkley got two of his predictions wrong so far in the tournament. 

Kevin Durant steps in as a big brother

The Texas Longhorns exited the tournament as the Miami Hurricanes secured their spot in the final four. The Longhorns failed to contain the Miami team even after stepping up in the second half with a 13-point lead. The Hurricanes displayed a strong comeback in the second half which the Texas team’s defense couldn’t stop.

In response to the disappointing loss, the Phoenix Suns star Kevin Durant took to his Twitter and congratulated the Longhorns for their efforts. The tweet read, “Great season @TexasMBB….we love y’all boys, thanks for a memorable year!!!” Durant is yet to make his return to the Suns’ lineup after his ankle injury. The report suggests that the star would return for the postseason.

The Longhorns’ head coach, Rodney Terry, broke down during the press interaction, after the team’s heartbreaking loss on Sunday. In his statement, he said, “I’m gonna love them for the rest of their lives.

While some of the stars are considerate about youth performance on the hardwood, the Sacramento Kings star De’ Aaron Fox criticized the NCAA games. In a recent press interaction, Fox expressed his displeasure with the quality of the games. He said, “I can’t watch a full college game, it’s hard…I can’t stand it.” However, the star received a considerable amount of backlash from fans after his statement.

What’s on the cards for the NCAA fans?

For the first time in 53 years, three teams are entering the final four stage in March Madness. After the Sunday game between the Longhorns and the Hurricanes, the tournament steps into the last three games. The San Diego State Aztecs will take on the Florida Atlantic Owls and the Connecticut Huskies lock horns with Miami Hurricanes on Sunday. Theresults will determine the finalists for the Championship.
