A recent rumor has been surfacing on social media for the past few days about Andrew Wiggins and his absence from the Warriors organization. According to the rumor, Wiggins’ girlfriend, Mychal Johnson, cheated on the Warriors star with his best friend. However, Johnson quickly dismissed all the rumors with a tweet a few days ago. This has now forced the Warriors head coach to step in and give his thoughts on the situation.

Steve Kerr gives a statement on Andrew Wiggins’ absence

Recently, Golden State Warriors head coach and 9x NBA champion Steve Kerr gave a statement to the media regarding the absence of Wiggins. After the game against the Dallas Mavericks, Kerr sat down with reporters to answer a few questions.

That is when Kerr said, “He’s a huge part of the team. A great player but he is a great human being. He’s just a great teammate and I love coaching him. So, anytime you see one of your guys who’s struggling, or dealing with something.” 

“All you can do is just support that player and give him space and that’s what we’ve tried to do. But our players and our coaches, front office are all just thinking about Wiggs every day.”

“And if he comes back great, if he doesn’t come back, that’s fine too. We just want to make sure that he’s in a good place, taking care of his family. And we’ll see how it plays out,” added Kerr.

The world reacting to the rumors

The rumors surrounding Andrew Wiggins and his girlfriend have gotten out of hand. So much so that Draymond Green decided to go on an absolute rant regarding it. He took the time to address the rumors on his podcast. Even Boston Celtics legend Paul Pierce reacted to the rumors.

Though Andrew Wiggins has not addressed these rumors, his girlfriend Mychal Johnson was forced to speak out on the matter. She tweeted, “Literally the farthest thing from the truth. It’s sad y’all even doing this.”
