NBA superstar Anthony Davis erupted for 37 points and 15 rebounds against the Oklahoma City Thunder as the Los Angeles Lakers took care of business at home winning the game 116-111 on Friday night. The Lakers have eight more games in the regular season and every game is crucial in their fight for a playoff spot. In the eight games, the Purple & Gold play against the Chicago Bulls twice, home and away next. Interestingly, former Laker Patrick Beverley is looking for some vengeance.

Beverley was traded to the Bulls just last month as the Lakers revamped their roster. The 2017 NBA Hustle award winner did not anticipate the move and even showed his excitement to play alongside former teammate D’Angelo Russell when he joined the Lakers. However, things didn’t turn out that way for Beverley as he was shipped off on trade deadline day and eventually found a way to his hometown, Chicago.

The Chicago Bulls have been struggling this season and are currently holding onto the 10th spot in the Eastern Conference, fighting for a playoff berth. So the two games between the Los Angeles Lakers and the Bulls are crucial for both parties. Amidst this, Patrick Beverley initially stated his appreciation for the Lakers organization. Then he reportedly stated that he is looking to end the playoff hopes of his former team.

According to a report from Lakers Nation, Beverley said, “We play the Lakers twice [?] Knockin? em out the playoffs. Yeah like we got to get in the playoffs so excuse us. Like a little scootch.”

Anthony Davis was recently asked about Beverley’s comments, and he gave his take. “That?s fine. He can come try,” Davis said. “A lot of people have tried. We?ll see Sunday. Sunday and Wednesday. Got one here and got one there.”
