Even a figure of unparalleled basketball greatness, Michael Jordan, found himself at the center of a maelstrom of backlash for the choices made by his team during the draft. Another young star unwittingly faced flak for expressing admiration for LeBron James, a modern-day titan of the game, over the revered Bulls legend.

The much awaited display of the NBA rookies’ balling skills began at the NBA Summer league in Sacramento. Notably, the 7 ‘4 French baller, Victor Wembanyama, will make his summer league debut on July 7. However, before that, fans witnessed the game of the much-debated second pick of the recently concluded draft.

Michael Jordan’s Charlotte Hornets picked Brandon Miller as the second overall pick of the NBA Draft. But fans expressed their displeasure on the team’s decision to pick Miller over Scoot Henderson. What added fuel to the fire was the 20-year-old’s recent outing in summer league.

The Hornets faced the San Antonio Spurs in the summer league on Monday night. In the absence of Wembanyama, fans’ attention was on Miller. But the rising star pulled off an underwhelming performance.

Notably, Miller registered 5 points with 6 fouls at halftime. It was enough for the online bullies to roast the star and subsequently, dragging Michael Jordan into the conversation.

On the other hand, the #3 draft pick, Henderson also faced fans’ wrath for picking LeBron James over MJ during an interview. The Lakers superstar won over the rookies’ hearts in a landslide victory over the Bulls legend.

Even though a mass section of fans trolled the star, some stood up for the 20-year-old and trusted him to bounce back in the upcoming games.
