Fans can often see LeBron James rocking to the latest music in his Instagram stories. A big fan of hip-hop, James once revealed his preferred type of music genre to relax his mind prior to big games. And he gave the fans a sneak peek into his taste in music amidst the NBA playoffs in 2017.
James loves hip-hop music and videos of him dancing to the latest hits by rappers are evidence of that. But that is not the only type of genre ‘The King’ is into. He has categorized his choice of music into three segments.

LeBron James has a varied choice of music
Now being a superstar like LeBron James; teammates, coaches, and fans tend to rely on you to deliver. And James has arguably been doing so, night in and night out since his debut in the NBA.
In a snippet of the Uninterrupted show ‘The Shop‘, James gave his fans and viewers an insight into his preference in music. Apart from hip-hop, James likes to listen to R&B and also classical music as well.

James said, “For a lot of people who don’t know, I like listening to classical music. Great composers and things from the pianos and different types of instruments, things that I could relax my mind with.”
LeBron mentioned how the pressure is amped up when going into the playoffs. A whole city or sometimes state is counting on a player to come through for them and get them a win. So, for James to choose the right type of music to get into the zone is arguably a crucial element of his game-day routine.
The three categories that LeBron James said he categorizes his music into are: “Getting ready for the game music”, “Going to the game music”, and “trying to decompress music”. James has a segment of music for each specific time prior to and post the game.

James gets his hands on music before the release
Being a total hip-hop junkie, James often gets to preview music before the release date. James was seen rocking to Kendrick Lamar’s album ‘DAMN’ before the release date. He also got to listen to Snoop Dogg’s song in his Instagram story featuring Benny The Butcher, Jadakiss, and Busta Rhymes titled ‘Murder Music.’
