15-time NBA All-Star, Shaquille O’Neal is versatile. He can play ball, be an NBA analyst, run a business, and don the hat of a DJ, all while qualifying as an actor. While all this sounds impressive, not everything has worked out in O’Neal’s favor. For starters, in Hollywood, O’Neal faced a huge loss. However, in a recent interview, he claimed to still be optimistic about his acting career and gave a Justin Bieber-like answer.

O’Neal has always had a bunch of side gigs going. This is what most NBA players also do. However, they take their time to establish themselves in different areas of life. Here’s where O’Neal stands out. He didn’t wait. He took the leap of faith and established himself in multiple avenues very early on.
With this in mind, O’Neal launched his career in Hollywood even before he was drafted. The movie was released in 1994. While he tasted success with his shoe line, his life as an actor did not turn out the way he expected. It led to criticism and monetary loss. Despite this, he seems to have big plans as an actor.
Shaquille O’Neal and his Justin Bieber-like answer
Shaquille O’Neal starred in the movie 1994 movie, Blue Chip. After his platinum hit music album, Shaq Diesel, this movie was his big Hollywood debut because he was one of the main characters in the movie. The movie failed to make money despite being lauded by the basketball community as one of the best movies about college basketball.

Then, O’Neal starred as a lead in the movie Kazaam. While O’Neal’s character of a genie was interesting for many, on a large scale the movie didn’t end up in the good books of the audience. The movie could barely make money. This resulted in a 1 million dollar loss for O’Neal.
Recently, on the Big Podcast, O’Neal was asked to name the worst movie to have ever been made. He said, “Kazaam.” Despite the act of self-trolling, O’Neal has not written off the possibility of a Kazaam sequel.
In an interview with Sneaker Freaker, O’Neal was asked, “How much longer do we have to wait for Kazaam 2?”. To this, he quoted a Justin Bieber song and said, “Never say never.”

Following Kazaam, Shaquille O’Neal has had several cameos in movies and music videos. However, despite experiencing nothing but failure as a lead actor, O’Neal has embraced the never give up or never say never attitude. With such soaring high optimism, it is going to be interesting to see what O’Neal has in store for the audience.
