It’s been more than a week since the Draymond Green-Jordan Poole altercation came to light. While Draymond Green went on a self-imposed hiatus to clear his mind, Poole stayed with the team. Poole has reportedly acted professionally since day one of the incident. Moreover, he sat down with Green to discuss the altercation and even reportedly said that Green should not be suspended for his actions. Poole, among other Warriors players, thought suspending Green wasn’t necessary and the four-time champion was subsequently fined instead.

The Golden State Warriors, led by Steve Kerr, will try to get past this and win back-to-back championships this season. If the Warriors manage to pull off another championship, the Green-Poole incident would likely be remembered as just another bump in the road. And they will have only one person to thank – Jordan Poole.
Steve Kerr, who has won nine NBA championships in his career as a player and coach, had a lot of praise for the 23-year-old on his professionalism. Kerr called Poole “special” and appreciated his will to move forward from the altercation.
Steve Kerr showers praise on Jordan Poole
Warriors head coach Kerr said Green is expected to be back for the final pre-season game against the Denver Nuggets. Green will likely be available for selection for the regular season opener against the Los Angeles Lakers next week.
“Well, I will let Jordan speak for himself when he speaks to you guys, which I think will be soon, but what I will say (about) my observation of Jordan is that he’s an incredibly mature young guy,” Kerr said when The Athletic’s Sam Amick asked about Poole’s part in the healing process.
“I think we’ve seen that on the basketball side with his work ethic, and his ability to work through his rough rookie season, and going to the G League bubble and do everything to get where he is now. It takes a lot more than just talent. So this is a pretty special young guy,” he added.

Indeed, Poole is arguably one of the big reasons why the Warriors can still call themselves title contenders ahead of the regular season. He also played in some of the pre-season games and was rested for the Blazers’ game. The upcoming pre-season game against the Denver Nuggets could feature both Green and Poole for the first time since the altercation.
