NBA players have a lot of avid followers, and it is partly the fans that make the league what it is today. But never has anyone come across a 94-year-old lady who loves watching the game and even has a list of her favorite players. And guess who made that list? Former Lakers champion and now Philadelphia 76ers Danny Green.

Green, who was grateful to be bestowed this honor, ended up thanking his top fan in his own way. The 94-year-old couldn’t have been happier, and she even posted her response online.

Recently, a Twitter user named Lili Gu posted a picture of her grandmother. In the post, the 94-year-old grandmother is holding a list of her favorite players from different teams. One of the teams on the list was the Brooklyn Nets and unsurprisingly, her top players from the team were Kevin Durant and James Harden.

On the same list were the Philadelphia 76ers, but the name under this team wasn’t the entirely obvious choice. Yes, it was Danny Green. Green, who may have been on the receiving end of hate from time to time, is still a three-time NBA Champion and counts as one of the best sharpshooters of this generation. Moreover, his humble nature is what is most commendable about him.

When this post went viral, Green must have caught wind of the story and couldn’t help but show how grateful he was. On March 27, Gu and her grandmother ended up with a package that had an exclusive Danny Green jersey. The jersey also had the sweetest message that said, “Thank you for picking me. Here’s to 95!”

Of course, the grandmother was delighted with the gift. She even praised Green for his clutch three-pointer against the Lakers, congratulating him for it.

In his bout with the team that traded him last summer, Green got his revenge. Not only did he receive his championship ring that night, but he was also the lead scorer in Philly with 28 points, and he also hit the last dagger that ended the game, 109-101.

The 76ers’ are leading the Eastern Conference with a 32-14 record. Getting sharpshooters in the offseason was the move that has worked wonders for them because that was what they had missing last season. Unmatched right now, they are up against the Denver Nuggets next.
