Kobe Bryant is widely recognized as one of the greatest Los Angeles Lakers players ever. He has 5 NBA titles to his name alongside other accolades. However, he couldn’t have won 3 of his 5 titles without the help of Shaquille O’Neal.
The Lakers brought in Shaq from the Orlando Magic and it started one of the best times for the Lakers fanbase and the front office. The team won a three-peat with Shaq and Kobe forming one of the best duos ever.

However, they had their differences both on and off the court. Interestingly enough, talking in an interview, O’Neal revealed a hilarious story. While the team played in the Madison Square Garden, Oscar-winning actress Halle Berry decided to pay a visit.
O’Neal was so enthralled to see her that he actually called for a timeout! During the timeout, he issued strict instructions to his teammates not to shoot the ball. The reason being? He wanted to be the star of the show!
Shaq said, “We had our differences. He wanna shoot and I’m like don’t shoot, throw it to me. True story. We in Madison Square Garden, I’m at the free-throw line. Halle Berry is walking down the steps. I had to call a timeout. ‘Hey Halle here to see me, don’t nobody shoot that motherf*cker other than me.’ Kobe, nobody. Shoot that sh*t and see what happens.“
This perfectly sums up Kobe and Shaq’s relationship. They had their highs and lows, which formed one of the best duos ever. Although not everything was great between the two, they still performed on the court.
