NBA Legend Shaquille O’Neal is one of the biggest to ever play. He has a huge 7 ft 1 frame, and he weighed over 330 pounds. And he is easily one of the most intimidating people on the planet. But still, he feared his bodyguard, who was way smaller than him.

Jerome Crawford was the security coordinator for one of the most popular players in basketball. Wherever Shaq went, Crawford went. If you have seen any Lakers game, you would see Crawford right behind Shaq.

The husky 6-foot-3 man with a shaved head was seen everywhere where Shaq went. Shaq calls him Uncle Jerome out of love and respect.

Despite looking like a joyful guy, Jerome is not somebody to mess with. Shaq met him in 1998 when he was working in New York as a police officer. Shaq says one of the reasons he hired him was because he was tough and also worked with his uncle.

Shaq said, “Jerome was a police officer in one of the toughest cities in the world. I’ve also seen him box, he’s got a mean 1-2. There’s only two right hands I fear — Butchie’s and Uncle Jerome’s. Butchie’s my father. You don’t want to mess with this cat.”

Jerome says Shaq asked him to be with him full time when he went to the Lakers. He says he had to take care of Shaq because he was very close to his uncle Mike. He said it was more than a job for him and it wasn’t a hard decision. The only con with his choice was that he could not be with them as much as wants. And when asked about Shaq, he said, “He was just a big kid.”

‘The Big Aristotle’ said he and Jerome are planning to start security companies, one of the largest companies in that space. He says he wants to hire ex-cops, agents, and guys who look mean and strong for celebrities like him.
