Dennis Rodman, the five-time NBA champion has been a superstar and one of the most recognizable faces of the NBA for a very long time. Rodman is very well known for playing in the Chicago Bulls’ second three-peat era. Before that he was known to be in the Detroit Pistons, battling with the Bulls on a regular basis.

But many NBA fans often forget that the Bulls no. 91 also played two seasons at the San Antonio Spurs. Moreover, he had interesting things to say about his stint with the team. Let?s just say it did fare out well for the 2-time NBA All-Star
Dennis Rodman on his stint with the San Antonio Spurs
Rodman, while talking to Bryan Alexander in 2019 said ?I?m thinking to myself, thank God we didn?t win a championship in San Antonio. I thank my lucky stars.? He added ?I never would have made it to the Chicago Bulls, and Chicago wouldn?t have won those three championships. So it?s a blessing in disguise.??

Rodman became candid about it and explained how the Chicago Bulls three-peat wouldn?t have happened for him if he didn’t leave the Spurs. San Antonio came close to winning the NBA Championship when he was there. For the first season Spurs qualified for the playoffs, before losing to the Utah Jazz in the first round. In the basketball legend’s second season, Spurs were the division winners but lost 4-2 to Houston Rockets in the conference finals.?
His teammates at the Spurs, one of them being David Robinson, didn?t know what to think of him. However, they were never ecstatic about him despite knowing that he had immense talent. Rodman had also been the rebounding champion playing for the Spurs in 1993.
It seems like all parties were happy with how things worked out, with the two-time NBA defensive player of the year winning three consecutive championships with the Bulls. And Spurs bringing in Tim Duncan who would lead them to championship glory in the future.

It is very clear how much Rodman was appreciated at the Chicago Bulls. The Bulls no. 91 was not averaging a staggering no. of points per game. However, he was more than making up for it in rebounds. In the 1994-95 season, Rodman averaged a record 16.7 RPG.?
