LeBron James has faced Stephen Curry in the NBA Finals four times in a row. Even though Curry and the Golden State Warriors got the better of LeBron’s Cleveland Cavaliers on three occasions, King James has seen Curry’s game closely for a long time. LeBron, like many others in the league, has been in awe of Curry’s dominance on the hardwood. With this admiration, the four-time NBA Champion has expressed his desire in the past to team up with Curry. On his show ‘The Shop – Uninterrupted’, LeBron once said, “Steph Curry’s the one that I wanna play with for sure, in today’s game.” LeBron’s wish to team up with Steph Curry could turn into a reality with the help of one of Curry’s Dubs teammates, who also happens to be a good friend of LeBron James.

In an interview recently, LeBron James made his intentions in the league very clear. He wants to win and give himself the opportunity to bag more championships. However, the chances of that transpiring with the Los Angeles Lakers looks a little slim. For starters, LeBron hasn’t had much support from his teammates lately. Despite putting up an average of 28.5 points per game, the Lakers have won 14 games and lost 21. They currently stand on the 13th place in the Western Conference table. So even qualifying for the playoffs is an uphill task for the team, let alone clinching the championship title.

The possibility of LeBron James teaming up with Stephen Curry

The Lakers’ recent struggles, combined with LeBron’s intense desire to win another championship, has led to possible trade conversations in the NBA community. One of the most desirable options for the four-time NBA champion, as stated in a recent report, is to be traded to the Golden State Warriors or the Miami Heat. With the structure, experience and depth in these teams, the report claimed that King James would fit right in.

Focusing on the Golden State Warriors move, a potential LeBron James trade would require the Warriors to let go of their star Draymond Green. Green’s role in a team is very similar to that LeBron James. While their shooting may not be on par, they play in the same position. Green and James are also friends off-court and are tied to the same agency Klutch Sports. Additionally, from the financial aspect too, this trade would work out fine. Other options for a possible trade include Klay Thompson, Jordan Poole, and Andrew Wiggins. However, in such a trade, the Warriors would also need to compensate the Lakers with draft picks and role players like Jonathan Kuminga and James Wiseman.

Draymond Green has a player option open for the next season. If he opts to stay with the Warriors, then the trade is possible. However, he could always choose to enter free agency. A LeBron-Curry team-up involves a lot of moving pieces, but it isn’t completely off the cards.
