Kenny “The Jet” Smith is one of the most endearing personalities in the game of basketball. Notably, Kenny was an important part of the mid-1990s Houston Rockets team, which went back to back for the NBA Championship. Back then, the Sacramento Kings had selected Kenny as the sixth overall pick in the 1987 NBA Draft. After his playing career, Kenny started working in broadcasting and has been a part of the NBA on TNT ever since.

In a recent interview, Kenny talked about Shaq’s early days on the NBA on TNT. He said, “We been doing this for fifteen years together and this dude gonna come in.. and you’re gonna build a hookah lab… like what was going on, you know, like what’s going on.”
He continued, “And then he’s got entourage, he’s got…he got once driving a rolce, once driving a Bentley, the Ferraris.. like it’s just a movie.”

Kenny further said, “And me and Chuck, and Chuck is… very sensitive… he doesn’t like it.. I’m like I’m like I am used to that in a way like I am okay with dudes who take stuff but Chuck is not having it… so now he is not watching the game literally Dj equipment, no kid you not, he’s practicing his DJ while a game is going on they let him get away with all that so because he is Shaq.”

The Orlando Magic drafted Shaq as the first overall pick in the 1992 NBA Draft. Shaq played for LSU in college and made an immediate impact on Orlando. In 1995, when Orlando qualified for the 1995 NBA Finals, they became the fastest-ever expansion team to reach the Finals predominantly because of Shaq.
But Shaq would leave Orlando for Los Angeles in the summer of 1996.
