Shaquille O’Neal had an incredible career spanning 19 years in the NBA. He won four championships, including the famous three-peat with the Los Angeles Lakers. Shaq played for some of the biggest franchises in the NBA, before retiring in 2011. He has often been compared with greats such as Michael Jordan, Kobe Bryant, and LeBron James for his contributions to the league. Now, Shaq has officially entered Michael Jordan territory as he is getting a docuseries of his own.

‘The Last Dance’ was a docuseries that revolved around the career of Michael Jordan at Chicago Bulls. It became ESPN’s most-watched documentary back in 2021. NBA is one of the most watched sports leagues in the world, and ‘The Last Dance’ catered to the ever-growing audience.

Shaquille O’Neal had an interesting NBA career and has been involved with the sport post-retirement. His docuseries is surely something fans will be looking forward to.

Shaquille O’Neal to have his own docuseries on HBO

HBO recently announced a docuseries named ‘Shaq’, based on the life of Shaquille O’Neal. Robert Alexander is the director of the four-part docuseries. The series will feature interviews from NBA legends such as Dwyane Wade, Phil Jackson, Pat Riley, and Jerry West.

“We kept this documentary real from the start, and I do feel like it is the most honest look into my life and career up until this point,” Shaq said in a statement.

“This process allowed me to reflect publicly in a way I haven’t before, and I’m so proud of the work everyone has done to put it all together,” he added.

The first episode of the four-part docuseries will debut on 23rd November at 9 p.m. ET. According to Variety.com, an exclusive clip for the series will make its debut on ‘Inside the NBA’ on TNT.

After Michael Jordan and Shaquille O’Neal, Stephen Curry is also getting his own documentary: ‘Underrated’. Apple is set to release the documentary based on Curry’s career from the 2008 NCAA tournament to his fourth NBA championship.

‘Black Panther: Wakanda Forever’ director Ryan Coogler is also among the producers of the documentary. The documentary is in the works and it would be an exciting watch for NBA fans.
