Dwyane Wade‘s wife Gabrielle Union will not let her critics off so easily. Moreover, she has a few pieces of advice for people who appear to be taking her comments on ‘infidelity‘ in her first marriage in a different direction. Union had earlier commented on how she felt “entitled” to cheat. This is a comment which has been making rounds on the internet. In a discussion with ET’s Nischelle Turner, Union talked about how critics are interpreting the comment in the wrong context.

There is some understanding of the anger as Union faced many critics after she mentioned her differences with her first husband. However, she didn’t retreat from her views, firmly standing by her words.

During an interview at the season 3 premiere of Truth Be Told,’ Union spoke freely on the backlash. “If your gonna get your panties in a twist about something I’ve been talking about since 2005 — in not one but two New York Times best-selling books — at least listen to the whole thing,” said Union. She was referring to 2017’s ‘We’re Going to Need More Wine’ which was followed up in 2021 with ‘You Got Anything Stronger?’

Union has never been shy to speak about her past relationship, expressing deep regrets about it. However, not for the infidelity. During her appearance on Dax Shepard’s “Armchair Expert,” she delivered a message that made a buzz.

During Monday’s episode, both stars discussed cheating in a previous marriage. During the interview, the “Bring It On” star discussed many of the issues she faced with former NFL player husband Chris Howard. As well as this, she also described her marriage asdysfunctional from day one.”

Furthermore, she discussed the responsibility she and her ex-husband share for this. “In my first marriage, neither one of us felt like the marriage should get in the way of our dating.” After Union and the former Jacksonville Jaguars player met in 1999 and began dating, they decided to move ahead and got married in 2001. Four years later, though, they got divorced because of their differences.
