Having formed one of the best dynasties and teams in the history of the league, the formation of the mighty Warriors came with a price. Golden State once had 5 All-Star starters on their team. Given huge contract extensions and max contracts to their star players, the Warriors are the most expensive team in the league.

Not only do they have 3 players under max contracts. The Dubs are also looking to offer contract extensions to the young players. The Dubs have clearly spent a fortune on keeping their best players in the Bay Area.

Stephen Curry, Klay, and Green rank top 50 in salary

The Warriors spent $176 million in salary this year with $170 million in tax penalties. Curry is the highest-paid player in the league, whereas Thompson ranks 11th. Andrew Wiggins is also on the top 50 list, ranking 26th, while Green ranks 43.

Golden State will be in a tough position soon as Jordan Poole comes out of the rookie contract and will demand a max contract.

Though the Warriors are looking to extend his contract this summer. This is where things get interesting, as Andrew Wiggins will also be a free agent around that time. Not only do the Warriors have to decide for their future, but currently they are paying a whopping $336 million in luxury taxes.

In 2019, the Warriors opened their new practice facility and home court worth $1.4 billion. This new arena has VIP boxes and lounges which cost quite some cash. The organization expected a good amount of revenue to generate through this new arena.
