Los Angeles Lakers legend, Magic Johnson was one of the most well-performing point guards the NBA had ever seen. With his uprising fame in the late 80s and several accolades already under his belt, Magic quickly and swiftly established himself in the world of basketball. Late in his career, the 5-time champion’s immense popularity gave birth to the talk show, ‘The Magic Hour,’ which Johnson anchored himself. Though the talk show didn’t last long, it had a moment of magic with the appearance of its first guest, Arnold Schwarzenegger.

Arnold Schwarzenneger is one of those athletes that need no formal introduction. He already had made a name for himself among bodybuilding fans by winning Mr. Olympia seven times. During the segment with Schwarzenegger, both athletes started by greeting each other. In addition to that, the Lakers legend and the seven times Mr. Olympia exchanged tiresome encomiums as the show moved forward. Thereafter, amidst the discussions, Magic brought up a story of him and his guests meeting once in a gym. Subsequently, he added that he once proudly pressed 300 lbs with his two arms in the gym. However, after revealing that, Johnson came to know the Austrian Oak could press‘300 lbs with one hand’.

Magic was undoubtedly a little shocked to learn about Schwarzenegger’s inhumane accomplishment. He might have reasoned that Schwarzenegger could pull off such a feat earlier in his career. Magic, at that point, was at least physically equal to the Austrian Oak. Apart from being startled, Johnson most likely picked up on the true scope of Arnold Schwarzenegger’s immense strength.
