The “Get Rich or Die Tryin’” musician has also made contributions to helping high-need youth to build their own business tycoons with his G-Unity Foundation Business lab. To celebrate Black History Month, the NBA franchise Houston Rockets joined hands with the rapper to give back.

50 Cent began his foundation back in 2003 with an aim to make a positive impact on communities in need of help. In 2021, he started the G-Unity Foundation Business lab in Houston. Partnering with HIDC, they would provide students with an after-school program to develop entrepreneurial skills and qualities. The youth get a chance to interact with some of the business leaders of the city and take valuable insights from them.

In the end, it comes down to a ‘Shark Tank’ type model with the winning student receiving grants and funds to launch his project. As it began in H-Town, the Rockets partnered up with 50 and even gave the rapping legend access to the Toyota Center.

NBA franchise Houston Rockets connect with 50 Cent to help give back

The Rockets are one of the most valuable franchises in the NBA. Valued at $3.2 billion according to Forbes, their executives have a bundle of knowledge in the art of achieving success. In honor of Black History Month, the NBA franchise opened its doors to 50 Cent and his G-Unity Foundation Business lab. They welcomed the kids into the Toyota Center for a career fair and a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity.

It provided the students a chance to speak with the Rockets’ executives. They were able to get real-time feedback on their business ideas and pitches. Moreover, both 50 cent and the Rockets representatives spoke about the valuable business lessons they have learned in their journey to success.

50 Cent’s inspiring journey arguably makes him the perfect face for such an initiative. At his peak, the rapping legend had amassed a net worth of $260 million. But when things hit rock bottom, Jackson learned about the business ideals that have helped him create a $40 million empire. He even wrote a book, ‘Hustle Harder, Hustle Smarter’, going over his various life experiences and business journey. The 47-year-old has made a huge impact on countless high-need youth in the urban area.
