While Thomas Bryant may have come across as an introvert off the court, he surprised fans with his intense and versatile moves on it. The Los Angeles Lakers are in a precarious condition with their players succumbing to injuries. Dennis Schroder had surgery on his right thump recently, and now Thomas Bryant is said to be out for at least three weeks due to the same surgery on his left thumb.

The Lakers announced that center Thomas Bryant had gone through surgery on his left thumb. They also reported that he would be evaluated in three weeks as to whether he would be fit to play or not. This is undoubtedly a big setback for both the player and the team.

Darvin Ham, the Laker’s head coach, said that the team wasn’t able to specify exactly when Bryant’s injury could have first occurred. According to him, the way Bryant plays the game, using his whole body and being a physical presence, is likely the reason for the injury.

Adding to the list along with Dennis Schroder and Thomas Bryant, Anthony Davis could not play in three pre-season games owing to his stiff back.
Lakers center Bryant sidelined
Bryant was picked up by the Utah Jazz in 2017 and traded to Los Angeles Lakers. But his physique and fitness have arguably been hindrances to his game. In 2021, he suffered a partially torn ACL. Bryant could only play 27 games last season.

Bryant would have likely been one of the projected starters for the Lakers. Unfortunately, the thumb injury could not have come at a worse time for him. Just before the regular season starts, Bryant will hope to get back as soon as possible.

Los Angeles Lakers fans will hope the team can overcome their injury issues and be title contenders once again, after a dismal season last year that ended in the purple and gold failing to even qualify for the play-in tournament.
