Taking inspiration from the success story of Los Angeles Lakers star Rui Hachimura, another young Japanese sensation traveled to the US last year to make a run for the NBA. After a promising first season with the Nebraska Cornhuskers, the 22-year-old junior guard is gaining a lot of praise from experts after a sensational start to the 2022-23 season at the NCAA Division I tournament. Moreover, after showing promising signs in recent times of becoming a future shooting giant, the young star is being referred to as the ‘Japanese Stephen Curry’.
Nebraska’s junior guard Keisei Tominaga’s game has seen a rise in performance in terms of scoring and shooting as compared to the last season. Moreover, Tominaga also happens to be the son of former Japanese star Hiroyuki Tominaga, who represented his country in the 1998 FIBA World Cup. His recent feats on the court have earned a lot of praise from fans and experts.

As per Yahoo News, Big Ten Network analyst Robbie Hummel pointed out the similarities between Stephen Curry and Keisei Tominaga while clarifying that he was not making any kind of comparison. While commending Tominaga’s ability to keep his momentum when shooting, Hummel said, “This is not comparing him to Steph Curry, but he has a little bit of that factor where if he makes one, he could make the next four because he’s that type of shooter.”
Moreover, the Big Ten analyst expressed his excitement about Tominaga’s growth as a player since his debut last season. Robbie Hummel added, “He’s not just a shooter, he’s a scorer.”
