Going into the game between the Minnesota Timberwolves and the Portland Trail Blazers tonight, Anthony Edwards said, “I think we are going to do a good job tonight“. Ant built perspective from his previous games and his thoughts emphasized his desire to avenge their defeat in their previous meeting. He praised the backcourt of the Blazers and confessed that the team has got two “really good guards“.

Damian Lillard and Anfernee Simons have been at the top of their game. The duo has been the backbone of the team and Ant admitted, “They cooked us last time“.
Ant on Portland’s backcourt:
“They got two really good guards. I think we're going to do a good job tonight.
They cooked us last time. Well, Dame
cooked us, but he had a lot of free throws. Simons cooked me for sure. So, I think l'II be a lot better tonight.”(@DaneMooreNBA) pic.twitter.com/m67snZMMg8

Ant continued to say that though the $225 million NBA All-Star Lillard had a great game, it was mainly because he had a lot of free throws. However, he definitely praised Simons for playing well. Edwards believes that he would be better in tonight’s game. This may be due to his mental notes on the game and the players.
Anthony Edwards proves his mettle
The 21-year-old guard has been widely considered to be the Timberwolves‘ “home-run hitter”. Even though that is a baseball analogy, it stands true for Anthony Edwards, as he can be often seen indulging in a shooting spree. Once, within 4 minutes in a game, he scored 11 points.

Last week, he took accountability for his team’s leadership. Ant said that it was surely time for him to step up to that position. Anthony Edwards spoke to The Athletic and admitted that he was dedicated to being more consistent and dominant with each game. He also said, “I think the more film I watch, the better I’m getting with it“.
If that wasn’t a stamp of approval for his game, there is another big one from the GOAT himself. Michael Jordan made an honest admission about Ant. While talking about the Timberwolves star, he said, “You are stronger than I am. You are more athletic than me, you are bigger than me“.
