The much anticipated moment of history unfolded in Los Angeles. Hitting his trademark fadeaway, LeBron James scored his 36th point against the Oklahoma City Thunder. With Kareem Abdul-Jabbar in attendance, the King crowned himself the all-time scoring leader. The 38-year-old raised his arms to the heavens taking in every ounce of the moment. With millions of witnesses on this special night, Nike hit the bullseye with their recent commercial.
James and Nike have shared a long relationship. For two decades the multi-billion dollar company followed his journey. As the 19-time All-Star’s legacy grew, so did the swoosh. His line of signature shoes is one of the biggest in Nike’s inventory. Likewise, James is a big part of their story.
To commemorate his iconic moment tonight, they came up with a commercial for James that hit right in the feels.

LeBron James climbs the peak with millions as witnesses
The Crypto.com arena rose with James as his shot hung in the air. All he needed was one basket to take over fellow Lakers legend Abdul-Jabbar. Going into a post-up, the Akron Hammer faded to get the most awaited moment of the season. The roars began as the sound of the ball and net came together. James ran across the floor celebrating the once-in-a-lifetime feat.
To pay their dues, Nike released its ‘We are all Witnesses’ commercial for King James. It focused on a career recap of the King from a rookie all the way to being at the apex of scoring. Likewise, the NBA universe celebrated his story along as Ball is Life posted a clip of the commercial.

While the night was lively, it wasn’t enough for the home team. The Lakers fell to OKC 130-133. James finished the game with 38 points on the night. Despite putting together one of the best accolades of his career, James’ focus lies in winning. There would probably be no better story than a Purple and Gold comeback this season. However, unlike LeBron James, the Lakers are far from the mark.
The historic night in Laker colors ended in a heartbreaking loss for LeBron James. They dropped to 25-30 for the season. Now with just 27 games left to play, the 2020 champion needs to dial it up.
