Shaquille O’Neal, despite having a net worth of over $600 million, doesn’t follow the standard route for investments. The Big Man will start a chain of restaurants under his name, and will also start a car wash business. Owing to his massive net worth, Shaq earns the right to splurge money as and when he wants to.

The 4x NBA champion has confessed that he spends a lot of money while he shops online. However, his preferred online shopping outlet recently cut short their association. Although the Big Man is popular among the masses, the company has decided to discontinue their partnership.

Major corporation cuts ties with Shaquille O’Neal and several other celebrities

The LA Lakers superstar has had a shopping problem from the very beginning. The famous story of Shaq making ‘the biggest purchase in Walmart’s history, worth $70,000, is known to every fan. Although this was during his early days with the NBA, Diesel hasn’t changed much even now. The 51-year-old is still goes shopping for things that catch his attention. With all the money he is amassing through brand endorsements and his own projects, who is to say that the Big Man is doing anything wrong?

Shaq was a part of Amazon’s famous Alexa virtual assistant. He was among the people who landed their voice on the AI system. Different versions of Alexa had voice-overs by Shaq, Samuel L. Jackson, and Melissa McCarthy. However, all that is about to change now as Amazon has decided to discontinue their product with different voices. A spokesperson for Amazon said, “After three years, we’re winding down celebrity voices.” Alexa will still have different accents which can be chosen by the users but the celebrity voices will be removed very soon. Alexa in Jackson’s voice can be used till June 7 whereas Shaq and McCarthy’s voice will be in use till September 30th.

Shaq is very fond of shopping at Amazon and he often flaunts his purchases. In a more recent episode of The Big Podcast, the Big Man spilled details about the amount of money he spends on Amazon on a weekly basis. He said that he spends over $5,000 per week. Impressed by his own purchases, Shaq even proposed a new segment based on his Amazon finds. Diesel said, “Listen we need to do a segment ‘The Shaq buys on Amazon’.”
