Los Angeles Lakers legend Kareem Abdul-Jabbar recently delved into the current political scenario gripping the United States of America. Taking to his blog, he addressed how certain political decisions could have saved the lives of thousands of fellow Americans in the past few years. Abdul-Jabbar bashed the policymakers and referenced the popular movie, ‘Terminator’ during his insight on the policies.

The former NBA champion used a report which suggested around 170,000 lives could have been saved in case the officials had tweaked some laws pertaining to tobacco, labor, and other departments while talking about other issues.

Former Los Angeles Lakers and Milwaukee Bucks superstar Kareem Abdul-Jabbar is well known for speaking out on global socio-political issues. Recently, he addressed a report which revealed that a lot of lives would be saved if the officials had acted differently.

He wrote, “The October report found that if all states implemented liberal policies on the environment, gun safety, criminal justice, health and welfare, labor, marijuana, and economic and tobacco taxes, more than 170,000 lives would have been saved in 2019.”

In case the states decided to go for a conservative approach, it could have saved a lot more lives. Interestingly enough, all these lives amount to a 600-capacity passenger crashing every day as pointed out by Jabbar!

He ended his political rant with a popular dialogue from Terminator starring Arnold Schwarzenegger. Jabbar wrote, “Like the Terminator said, “Come with me—and the facts—if you want to live.” Or something like that.”

He has lashed out at Republicans in the past as well. A few years ago, Abdul-Jabbar released a detailed report denouncing former POTUS Donald Trump.

Back in 2016, the world talked about the US Elections and also pointed out Donald Trump’s hypocrisy. Abdul-Jabbar revealed how Trump has changed his affiliations in the past which should be kept in mind by the voters.

He wrote, “In 1999 he switched from Republican to independent, then to Democrat in 2001, then to Republican in 2009.” According to the All-Time Leading Scorer in NBA history, this is either internal conflict or just Trump’s antics. Furthermore, in the same report, he also accused Trump of trying to influence voters on the basis of religion.
