The Brooklyn Nets started this season with the hopes of winning their first NBA championship in the modern era. The Nets, however, entered the season with a sense of uncertainty after reports of Kevin Durant’s desire to leave the franchise surfaced. Durant has been in search of his third championship with the Nets since 2019, after his unforeseen decision to leave the Golden State Warriors. Despite making the playoffs in the last four seasons alongside Kyrie Irving, KD remains far from his third championship ring. Now, James Harden has launched an attack on Kevin Durant, ten months after leaving the Brooklyn Nets.

James Harden was a part of the Brooklyn Nets team since the 2020-21 season. Last season, he played 44 games with Kevin Durant and Kyrie Irving before joining the Philadelphia 76ers during the playoffs.

Moreover, Harden officially signed a 2-year, $68.6 million deal with the 76ers in July. He reportedly took a $14.5 million pay cut this season in hopes of winning a championship. However, Harden’s decision to leave KD’s Nets was met with criticism from the fans and critics.?

James Harden takes a dig at Kevin Durant

Recently, James Harden spoke up about his exit from the Brooklyn Nets. The ten-time addressed his critics who called him a ‘quitter’ with a dig at Kevin Durant. Moreover, James Harden said,?“I knew you were going to talk and say, ‘You quit’ and all that stuff, but then the following summer, the other superstar there wanted to leave. So it’s like: Am I still the quitter?”

In his recent statement, Harden referred to the reports about Kevin Durant’s request for a trade during the offseason. After losing in the first round last season, Durant admitted to having doubts about playing with the Nets during the offseason. The 12-time All-Star also made a trade request in June.?

For nearly two months, the Nets were involved in negotiations with several teams to find Durant a new and lucrative home. However, the trade never happened and Durant decided to stay back at the Nets in August.

The Brooklyn Nets have progressed well this season after a shaky start. Kevin Durant and the team have won nine out of their last ten games. The Nets are currently on fourth seed in the Eastern Conference with an 18-12 record.?

Durant is leading the team with an example once again. The two-time finals MVP averages 29.9 points, 6.6 rebounds, and 5.4 assists per game, in 29 appearances this season. He is getting some strong support from Kyrie Irving, who averages 25.6 points, 4/7 rebounds, and 4.6 assists per game in 21 appearances.?

The Nets are going well currently, and Durant would hope to end up closer to the championship this season.
