NBA legend Shaquille O’Neal recently traveled to the United Arab Emirates for the NBA Abu Dhabi Games 2022 as an ambassador. Several other legends like Vince Carter, Isiah Thomas, etc also made the trip as ambassadors. The Milwaukee Bucks and the Atlanta Hawks faced each other twice in the UAE in what was the latest attempt by the league to expand its reach. The Los Angeles Lakers legend is one of the most loved celebrities in the world. And it was evident during his visit to Abu Dhabi.

The gentle giant was welcomed with both arms and Shaq soaked it all in. After coming back to the country, O’Neal jumped into the business with his show The Big Podcast with Shaq. In the recent episode of his show called The Big Scuffle, Shaq, the co-hosts Nischelle Turner and NFL veteran Spice Adams discussed a variety of topics. Meanwhile, Turner wanted to know about his time in Abu Dhabi.
So the former MVP talked about the “perfect place” he has ever been to. And compared it to his experience in Abu Dhabi. Interestingly, the “perfect country” O’Neal is referring to is in South East Asia.
Shaquille O’Neal loved his time in Abu Dhabi
During the show, Shaquille O’Neal disclosed that the only “perfect place” he has ever been to is Singapore. “Well, the only perfect place I’ve ever been to in the world was Singapore. What I mean by perfect, clean, very low single-digit one through five percent crime rate. Everybody’s respectable you know. The culture is old culture and there is no new culture. Whatever they invented back in the day still stands. Abu Dhabi is similar,” Shaq said.

The four-time NBA champion is a people’s man. The fans love him and he takes his time to show them some love in return. In Abu Dhabi, he did just that. O’Neal surprised the local people when he showed up at a local basketball court to play with the kids.

He was having lunch in the capital when he took a short break to shoot some hoops at a nearby court. The fans were stunned to see the all-time great taking a stroll. The kids that were playing basketball started chanting Shaq’s name. After playing with the kids for a bit, the Big Diesel then spent time posing for photos with fans.
