The NCAA Most Outstanding Player announced the news with a heap of excitement. After years of trying to put on a USA jersey, she finally has the chance. Reese is the headline star that will travel to Mexico for the 2023 FIBA Women’s AmeriCup. It might come as a surprise – how hasn’t one of the best talents in basketball ever had the opportunity to represent her country? Well, sometimes it was her luck, and at other times, the circumstances never let it happen.
“GOD DID. I guess the 5th time was the CHARM,” wrote Angel Reese on Instagram.
The 21-year-old detailed her dramatic ride, being denied the USA call-up. But the basketball realm has come to know her resilience. Reese is a powerful and strong individual who isn’t afraid to take the huge leaps. And ever since the brave decision to move to Louisiana, to the Tigers, she just knew it was her time.
“Never will I give up on the things that I WANT in life! I WILL NOT BE DENIED! Super excited to represent my country! LET’S GO USA,” said Reese.
After making history at the NCAA tournament and raising college basketball to new heights, Reese has soared in life. She is one of only 20 college athletes to have a seven-figure valuation, rocketing to $1.4 million since LSU’s historic win. Moreover, she has cracked deals with some huge brands such as Bose, JanSport, McDonald’s, Outback Steakhouse and Xfinity according to New York Post.
