It doesn’t seem to be a great time for fans living in Oakland. First, the Golden State Warriors left the iconic Oracle Arena and relocated to San Francisco. It was followed by the Oakland Raiders moving to Las Vegas in 2020. Furthermore, the Oakland Athletics franchise is in the process of moving to Las Vegas as well. Because of this, the ?reverse boycott? movement has caught fire in the hopes of keeping the Athletics in the Bay Area. After words of encouragement from Warriors star Stephen Curry, fans gave it their all, voicing their displeasure at the reported relocation during the A’s game against the Tampa Bay Rays at the Oakland Coliseum.

Stephen Curry recently displayed tremendous love and support for the Oakland Athletics, who have seen their fanbase diminish over the years. But the new ownership?s plans for the team seem to be clashing with the fans.

Fans try a new tactic to keep the Athletics in Oakland

The Oakland Athletics recently experienced a huge drop in their fanbase, as fans stopped coming to games to support the A?s. Now, one of the reasons cited by fans was the unfair treatment by the owners. This led John Fisher to make a judgment call and decided to move his team from Oakland to Las Vegas. The proposed move had the fans heartbroken, which also instigated the ?reverse boycott? movement.

The loyal Athletics fans came out in numbers to protest, urging the owner to sell the team in the hopes of keeping the A’s in Oakland. Fans were seen gathered outside the Coliseum, chanting, ?Sell the team.?

Fans did this protest in the hopes of keeping the team from relocating to Las Vegas. With the news of the relocation, fans have started to fill up the stadium to show how much they still support the Athletics.

The new goal of the Athletics fanbase is to fill the stadium with as many spectators as possible. But even after a full stadium, fans did not give up on the ‘sell the team’ chants. This came just days after Steph Curry revealed his wish of keeping the A’s in Oakland.
