20 on-air reporters are out of jobs this week. Coming in the wake of Disney’s decision to reduce 7,000 employees in a push for ‘cost savings’, ESPN has made some brutal cuts to their workforce. The influential broadcasting company is slowly descending into chaos and mistrust, earning vicious reactions from players, peers and fans alike. Many fellow analysts have been vocal about the mass exodus, showing solidarity and support for those cut from ESPN.
