NBA icon Michael Jordan has built a label that has seen him remain in the limelight even after retirement. His family is closely associated with the brand, promoting it successfully without even requiring His Airness’ presence. While Jordan appeared at the 2022 Miami GP, he was unable to return to Miami International Autodrome in 2023 because of his African getaway. That didn’t hamper things as Marcus Jordan graced the event where he celebrated his father’s legacy.

The 32-year-old shared an Instagram story of his true motive for being at the Grand Prix. What was it?

Michael Jordan’s trip began in Spain, where he had a great time tasting the local cuisine and playing golf. MJ continued his expedition when he landed in Morocco to explore the African country. Meanwhile, his son Marcus, who has been involved in the sneaker business for a few years now, chose to attend the Miami Grand Prix 2023 and fulfill his business interests.

As the eyes of the racing world turned to the action at the Miami International Autodrome, Marcus opened a sneaker store at the venue. He shared snippets of the newly opened Trophy Room store at the event on his Instagram story.

Marcus Jordan has been involved in the sneaker business all his life. Given that he is the son of the basketball legend who forever changed the sneaker culture, it’s not surprising. His love for shoes has rapidly grown ever since he first got his hands on a pair of Jordans, just like many others. That love soon turned into a passion and that was what led to the birth of “Trophy Room”.

Marcus’ inspiration for the project came from the trophy room that lay in the center of MJ’s house. It wasn’t meant solely to celebrate His Airness‘ achievements, though. It was an inspiration for all his children to dream big and chase their goals.

This motivated Marcus to open his retail business in 2016. The Chicago Bulls legend had attended the opening ceremony and, according to Marcus, was extremely proud of his son for molding his vision into life.
