It all started with a tweet detailing the brawl between anti-LGBTQ+ and pro-LGBTQ+ groups. A clip of their fight was posted on Twitter and broadcaster Chris Puckett added his take to it. Puckett said that what is happening in America is extremely saddening right now. He added that people should let each other be what they want to be.

Puckett suggested people focus on living their own life rather than trying to restrict others. This prompted a response from Nickmercs as he tweeted “They should leave little children alone. That?s the real issue.” This tweet did not sit well with the pro-LGBTQ+ people and then came the backlash.

Nickmercs skin was a part of Modern Warfare II and Warzone stores, which was extremely popular among fans as well as other streamers.

Activision decided to pull back its partnership with Nickmercs and also issued a statement over the recent controversy. Activision stated, “Due to recent events, we have removed the ?NICKMERCS Operator [bundle].?
