Sylvester Stallone’s sports drama franchise ‘Rocky’?is one of the highest-grossing movie franchises to this date. Stallone is one of the most popular actors in the world and has millions of fans all around the globe. However, even people who are not familiar with the $400 million worth Hollywood superstar certainly know him as the titular character in the ‘Rocky’ movies.
Considered as one of the most popular sports movies of all time, the franchise has grossed over $1 billion worldwide. While the franchise has six movies and three spin-off series to date, an upcoming movie ‘Drago’?of the franchise is in development.

Still considered a cult classic by fans, the movie stands out because of its originality. The main character being the underdog set to prove himself made it easier for the audience to be able to relate to the movie. Additionally, in several movies of the franchise, Rocky ends up losing, in contrast to the typical ‘hero always wins’ narrative. Those are just a few of the reasons why global audiences loved the movies.

NBA fans clash over the popularity of Rocky the Mountain Lion
It is arguably hard to hate a character when it is wrapped up in adorable fur and is always making fans laugh. The Denver Nuggets mascot, Rocky the Mountain Lion recently made the news, and the mascot’s fans are overjoyed. It was recently reported that Rocky is the highest-paid mascot in the league. He earns about $625K annual salary. An average NBA mascot makes around $60K per year, which means Rocky earns 10 times more than most mascots.
