However, the Los Angeles Lakers legend’s love for boxing does not end there. Interestingly, he also squared off against another boxing legend in the ring.

UFC commentator Joe Rogan recently discussed the iconic middleweight championship match between the undisputed Marvin Hagler and Thomas Hearns. Shaquille O’Neal shared the video clip via his Instagram story. It is no secret that this match, dubbed “The War,” is considered one of the best fights in history because of how the two went at it from the beginning. Rogan’s love for contact sports and the matchup was evident in the clip. The podcaster said, “This is Hagler in his prime. He was 30 years old. He was the undisputed motherfuc**ng middleweight champion of the world. And most people thought he was the best pound-for-pound fighter on earth.”

Rogan then talked about Hearns’ performance against Roberto Duran. He explained how Hagler and Hearns went at it from the start and added, “They are going to war. These are two of the best fucking middleweights ever, standing in front of each other going to war.”

Rogan was astonished by the intensity and the way the two legendary boxers approached the fight from the get-go. Even though they were very skillful athletes, Hagler and Hearns went at each other without “no regard for human life.” Marvelous Marvin won the fight covered in blood in the third round with a knockout.
