NBA legend Scottie Pippen and boxing legend Floyd Mayweather Jr. recently made an appearance at an event celebrating the release of a new movie Fear. The film’s director Deon Taylor, producer Roxanne Avent Taylor, and co-star in Fear Ruby Modine were also present. Van Jones was the host of the event. During the show, Pippen, Mayweather, and others talked about some of their biggest fears and explained how they face them. The Chicago Bulls legend disclosed that seeing his brother paralyzed and his father having a stroke were his biggest fears growing up.

Mayweather Jr. stated that his biggest fear growing up was letting his father who worked so hard for him down. However, he noted that he would not call it a fear.

Van Jones was nervous to share the stage with Scottie Pippen

Ruby Modine is the daughter of the legendary actor Matthew Modine who was popular for his role in the movie Full Metal Jacket. During the event, she shared her biggest fear. Similar to Floyd Mayweather Jr., Ruby’s fear growing up was disappointing people who had high expectations of her. She also added that she was a bit scared to be on the stage amongst legends. Then host Van Jones said that he was nervous as well sitting next to Scottie Pippen.

Jones noted, “I’m nervous too. It’s Scottie Pippen.” As the guests and the fans laughed at this notion. Pippen said, “No you’re on TV more than me.”

Jones is a news and political commentator, author, and lawyer. Over the years, he has hosted many shows on CNN. He won the Emmy Award for his show The Messy Truth VR Experience with Van Jones.?Furthermore, he also served as a special adviser for the former President of the United States Barack Obama in 2009. So it is safe to say that it was a huge compliment from Jones for the six-time NBA champion.

Pippen on his childhood fears

Scottie Pippen was the youngest of 12 children in his family. When he was three or four, one of his older brothers was paralyzed from the neck down. During the sit-down, Pippen revealed that his brother, 12 or 13 at the time, injured his back while playing wrestling with his classmates.

The Hall of Famer recounted that the doctors did not think his brother would survive. However, his brother is still alive with the help of his family. Also, a few years after his brother was paralyzed, Pippen’s father suffered a stroke. Pippen noted these two tragic events were his biggest fears growing up.
