On their way to greatness, most NBA icons tend to break the hearts of many fans. From Michael Jordan sinking the Cleveland Cavaliers in 1989 to Stephen Curry overpowering the Houston Rockets multiple times, certain franchises get to witness the most ruthless version of these stars. That was the case with LeBron James as well. It seemed like the 4x NBA champion was on a mission in 2018. And one team, in particular, bore the brunt of The King’s wrath. In fact, that series in 2018 gave birth to one of the most iconic nicknames in league history, as James shattered the dreams of an exciting team and its fanbase.

The franchise won its first and only championship as soon as James moved from the East to the Western Conference. A member of that team recently opened up about his experience of facing James.

LeBron James pretty much single-handedly carried the Cleveland Cavaliers to the NBA Finals in 2018. Although the Cavs could not get the better of Stephen Curry, Kevin Durant, and the Golden State Warriors, it was a historic playoff run, nonetheless.

The Cavs took on the Toronto Raptors in the Eastern Conference Semi-Finals that year. With names like DeMar DeRozan, Fred VanVleet, and Kyle Lowry on their roster, the Raptors had a good chance of going through. They were also the #1 seed in the East that year, while the Cavs were the #4 seed. With the odds tipping toward the Raptors, King James took matters into his own hands and delivered a performance for the ages.

Talking about facing James in his prime, Fred VanVleet revealed the team was pretty much helpless. “He had a 2nd or 3rd quarter against us … where he decided he was going to shoot turnaround jumpers? You knew what move he was gonna do, he still did it and there’s nothing you could do,” said the 29-year-old.?

This was in reference to Game 2 in Toronto. The Cavaliers beat the Raptors 128-110, with James scoring 31 points in just three quarters! As the game approached the fourth quarter, the announcer made a historic call.

The top spot goes to the Milwaukee Bucks. The 19x All-Star has scored 1,751 points against the Bucks, averaging 28.7 points per game against them. Following the Bucks closely are the Indiana Pacers and the Chicago Bulls. Safe to say, not many teams will have good memories of facing LeBron over the years.
