NBA Summer League kicked off on Friday evening, the most exciting event since the NBA draft. We saw Victor Wembanyama’s debut for San Antonio Spurs, against Charlotte Hornets. Considered the biggest prospect since LeBron James, the 2023 NBA draft 1st pick is a promising future NBA star. An interesting fact to note here is that earlier in November, LeBron is all praises for him.

James called Wemby an alien because of his exceptional skills and height. King James, too, believes Victor’s unique size and agility are a pretty rare combination; rarely seen before.

But his Summer League debut portrays a completely different narrative. The highly anticipated game, tickets to which sold for almost $850, turned out to be a big disappointment for NBA fans. Alongside Wemby’s debut, Las Vegas also witnessed another magnificent debut. And of course, fans have their own take on these updates.

The San Antonio Spurs’ highly anticipated No. 1 NBA draft pick, Victor Wembanyama, made his Summer League debut against the Charlotte Hornets. Many NBA legends were in attendance, including Kareem Abdul-Jabbar and Jerry West.

Wembanyama’s performance was mixed. He scored 9 points, 8 rebounds, with 5 blocked shots and 3 assists. However, he struggled with his shooting, making only 2 of 13 attempts. Despite mixed reviews, the Spurs prevailed, winning 76-68.

And as it turns out, after the successful preview from last evening, the entertainment sphere will continue to feature the entire league on-screen on its exterior. While the Sphere is here to stay, we’re going to witness Spurs and Wemby set for another match against Blazers on Sunday. They’re now going to face Scoot Henderson, the #3 overall pick. Scoot unfortunately suffered a shoulder injury in his Summer League debut, but the severity of his injury is uncertain.

The overall time the French sensation will spend on-court in the league is still undetermined, but fans will still observe his further performances, all thanks to the hype he brings along.
