NBA superstar Giannis Antetokounmpo is widely regarded as one of the best players in basketball today. However, a few former NBA players don’t think that’s the case. And one of them is former Warriors star Gilbert Arenas.
Giannis has been having a great time these last few seasons. He slowly elevated himself from an all-star to a superstar as he won two MVP awards. However, there was still talk that Giannis has a tough time in the playoffs.

Nevertheless, he proved critics wrong as he won the title last year in a commanding fashion. This season, he was stopped in the second round but that was only because of an injury to his all-star teammate.
His play earned him applause and experts say that he further cemented his place as the best in the league. However, Arenas doesn’t think that’s the case.
Arenas says Giannis Antetokounmpo doesn’t know the game yet
Gilbert Arenas was recently on his podcast with Phil Handy, the Lakers’ assistant coach. Arenas said that the media tries to claim Giannis is the best in the world. But in reality, the gap between him and the best is massive. He says that Giannis doesn’t even fully understand the game.
When asked to clarify his comments, Arenas said, “Right now his game is all physical…I?m saying if you guys had him No. 1 or No. 2, and he does not understand this game yet, that?s scary? Give him Tim Duncan?s knowledge, whole different player, isn?t he?”
