His name got attached to country artist Taylor Swift recently, which means fame outside of the NBA. Now he has announced something that seals his stamp in the NBA world further.

Austin Reaves is living a hooper’s dream

The emerging Los Angeles Lakers player had a major announcement on Instagram. He had declared the inception of AR1, his own shoe line. These shoes will hit the market in the summer. They are associated with the Rigorer brand. The logo of the brand is a ‘crosshair’ which goes hand-in-hand with Austin Reaves’ personality and game as a sharpshooter. The colors of the shoes resemble the Los Angeles Lakers color scheme and seem to mesh well. 

Having a shoe line of their own is one of the biggest dreams of many basketball athletes. Reaves has gotten his break via a Singaporean brand. It is not like Nike, Adidas or Puma, but it is a great start for a budding star. Apart from garnering attention for his incredible basketball skills, the sharpshooter was on the news for other reasons, too. He clicked a photo with music sensation Taylor Swift and as usual, fans were quick to point out that something may be brewing out there.

Fans give a warm response to the Reaves-Swift

In the wake of the Taylor Swift-Austin Reaves connection, there were some interesting responses to the announcement. 

One fan was right on cue, stating “Air Swift.”

One user found the brand’s logo amusing, chiming in with, “Bro got dead eye badge on his shoes, I’ll still cop ngl.”

One fan pointed out the perks of playing with LeBron James, saying, “Playing with LeBron gets u a signature shoe.”

Another fan found the design appealing, commenting, “These actually don’t look that bad. I’d get a pair.”

One of them set a big hope for him, saying, “Waiting for the 15s.”

Overall, this was a fantastic year for Reaves, who was one of the best role players in the Playoffs. He has earned a rather cult status among the fanbase as showcased by his nickname, Hillbilly Kobe.
