As the 2020 NBA All-Star game tipped off on Sunday in Chicago, captains from either side –LeBron James and Giannis Antetokounmpo– had a contest of their own.
Giannis and LeBron came up against each other on multiple occasions with each of them having their moment. A notable moment first came when Antetokounmpo blocked a fadeaway attempt from LeBron James.

After a few minutes, LeBron had an opportunity to level things with his counterpart. Giannis received a pass right in front of James and tried to post up. James inflicted a turnover with a steal from him when the whole bench got excited.

Later, when the game was coming to an end, Giannis had another block when LeBron was attempting a layup- this time right onto the backboard.

LeBron James & Giannis Antetokounpo praise the new format of the NBA All-Star game
Owing to the new format, the teams were left chasing a score of 157 to win the game. The changed format actually brought some competitiveness that the All-Star games over the years cried for.
Many players including the two captains, Joel Embiid among others talked in favour of the new format.

“The format is amazing,” Giannis was quoted as saying by The Athletic. “It makes you want to play hard and compete against one another. Each quarter you have the opportunity to win, and it makes it way more competitive.”
