The Milwaukee Bucks have had to deal with many changes over a short time this season. The most prominent of them was the mid-season coach change. And the next was when Doc Rivers managed to get a Philly favorite, Patrick Beverley. Although Pat admitted he was quite surprised that the Sixers let go of him, the 15-year veteran was more than excited about the new chapter. Interestingly, fans have been speculating about his future. As per @theNBAalert, Patrick Beverley (patbev21) is now following @EuroLeague, on X.

This new action comes in the wake of the 35-year-old speaking highly of the EuroLeague, his past teammates, and more on his podcast. Although he was a second-round 42nd pick in the 2009 Draft Night, Beverley only started playing in the NBA in 2013. From 2008 to 2012, the Arkansas product spent his time playing in various European professional basketball clubs. So it must have come as a surprise that it took him so long to follow the EuroLeague on Twitter.

And why now? That would be the million-dollar question.

As for his recent Pat Bev Podcast episode, he talked about the differences between the NBA and European basketball. He started by congratulating Panathinaikos Athens for winning the 2024 EuroLeague title. “In the NBA, some nights are different. Some nights, you don’t have some guys playing, and in Europe, everyone’s trying to play and fight through everything. You don’t really have a lot of guys missing stuff unless it’s something serious,” he pointed out.

Beverley didn’t fail to mention that, aside from the elite names of the NBA, the rest of the players carry a skill set similar to those in European basketball. He went as far as to say that if the men in both leagues were swapped without their respective names on the jerseys, no one would even realize they were completely different guys!

Pat had a lot more to say, but all of this and the sudden following on X have fans wondering if there could be a move back to Europe.

Fans are confused as they predict Patrick Beverley’s future in the dark

The immediate question that came to fans’ minds was whether Pat Bev was looking to change his playing ground. “Job hunting?” tweeted a Stephen A. Smith AI fan page. Another netizen commented, “A new chapter”.

Another individual took it quite personally, it would seem. “Pat really leaving us to play in a farmers league,” followed by a heartbroken emoji. A derogatory term used for uncompetitive or financially struggling teams and leagues, this guy made it quite clear what he thought of professional basketball leagues outside of the NBA.

Another user, though, found it to be the right move, though it had an aggressive tone to it. “Good he’ll be playing there in a few months.” While Beverley is no savior, he has helped the Bucks’ defense. Since the deadline deal, Milwaukee has won 12 of their 17 games. The other factor to consider is that Pat is on an expiring contract. So, whether or not they would want to keep the pesky defender on the team is something the Bucks have to give much thought to.

“Bro preordering his spot,” was the comment from this next fan. Quite similar to the above guy, just a little less aggressive. And finally, this person was also pretty sure Patrick Beverley following the EuroLeague on X was a sign. “Bro prepping for the future.”

Since we are yet to get any confirmation on such a career change, let’s hope Patrick Beverley will continue in Milwaukee in the coming season, too.
