Every fan at the Lincoln Financial Field held their hands to the head. In the enthralling matchup between the Philadelphia Eagles and Jacksonville Jaguars, jaw-dropping plays became a theme. DeVonta Smith pulled off a ludicrous one-handed catch. However, what the Eagles’ newest acquisition, Saquon Barkley produced left his coach “speechless.” Nick Sirriani though was everyone who watched that play.

It included Jalen Brunson, an Eagles fanboy who couldn’t believe what he had witnessed. “omg” is all the New York Knicks stalwart could write alongside the video of Barkley’s play. The former Giants RB took a Jalen Hurts pass, avoided a tackle, spun away from a defender, and then reverse hurdled over Jaguars’ Jarrian Jones to gain an additional five yards.

The 27-year-old had God to thank after the electrifying play. “I’m not going to lie … I feel like God gave me the ability to play this position and gave me some instincts. Sometimes you’ve got to let go and let God and your instincts take over,” he said after the game. However, LeBron James feels he should get the credit.

The Akron Hammer has long professed his praise for the Eagles RB. Saquon Barkley even wore LeBron-inspired Zoom Generation cleats in one of his games while on the Giants. He had those on tonight, and LeBron James feels they gave him the ability to trampoline over the defender. “Must be the shoes… you’re insane,” he detailed on his Instagram story.

The only man in New York happy about Saquon Barkley’s switch

At one point, Saquon Barkley couldn’t imagine life outside of New York. He was the star anchor for the Giants, leading the team with his explosive talent. However, behind the scenes, contract negotiations had stalled for over two years. Ultimately, the 27-year-old received an offer from the Eagles—bitter rivals of the Giants—with more guaranteed money, but also the weight of a historic rivalry.

Despite the potential backlash, Saquon Barkley chose to face the anger of an entire city and join the Eagles. Meanwhile, Jalen Brunson, captain of the New York Knicks and a transformative talent for the franchise, was celebrating in the midst of the tension. Having spent three years at Villanova, Brunson holds a deep affection for both Philadelphia and the Eagles.

It’s not uncommon to see him at Eagles games in full gear. Even after moving to New York, his connection to Philadelphia remains strong. Knicks fans initially felt some discomfort with his loyalty, but when he’s on the floor against the 76ers, Brunson honors his ‘home’ colors without hesitation.

It was reminiscent of what Barkley did when he faced the Giants. Despite his emotional roos, the star RB had to keep his feelings aside. There was no looking for “revenge” yet he went on to record 176 rushing yards against his former team capped off by a touchdown. His career with the Eagles has got off to a flying start and has revitalized the hopes of winning another Super Bowl.
