Is Giannis Antetokounmpo the most dominant player in the NBA today, or is there someone better?

Doc Rivers and the Milwaukee Bucks finally snapped their preposterous losing streak. Solace hit the land of Wisconsin. The win came against the Jazz, a team with an identical record but inferior in terms of the talent they hoard. Yet, the Deers needed a win on their books, and after six games, they finally found their footing. Unsurprisingly, Giannis Antetokounmpo punished Utah en route on a historic night that brought out his incredible dominance.

Despite the Bucks’ abysmal record, Antetokounmpo’s consistent performance was a silver lining for Rivers. Averaging 31 points per game, the Greek Freak accounts for 38.3% of Milwaukee’s scoring output. Until now, he strived and emptied his tanks trying to will the franchise to a win. Tonight, with some support offered from the bench, he didn’t have to sweat.

Giannis Antetokounmpo only played for 30 minutes but was destructive during his time on the floor. Apart from his points, the two-time MVP added 16 rebounds, including six offensive rebounds to ensure the Bucks attack with possession. He also set himself apart from every player to have stepped foot on the NBA.

In the Bucks’ much-needed win against the Jazz, Antetokounmpo’s monster double-double made him the NBA player with the most 30/10 games in 30 minutes or less. What’s even more twisting is that the Greek Freak didn’t have a single three to propel him toward the achievement.

The record stands as a testament to his continued dominance. Giannis Antetokounmpo is a force that can swing the momentum of the game by simply being an atomic tyrant. And as he did that tonight, the Bucks also found some positives that they can build on after their discouraging showcase thus far.

In the previous games, there was a lot lacking. The Bucks’ defense wasn’t organized, giving up 16 fast break points per game. Furthermore, they lacked great production from the bench, averaging less than 30 points from their second unit. However, tonight was a night where the Bucks did things right and saw ravishing results.

The Bucks limited their opponents to 100 points, the lowest mark they have forced in the eight games this season. Additionally, their transition to defense was key in their victory. The Bucks only gave up 7 fast break points while generating 39 of their own in the 23 point melting of the Utah Jazz.

Another positive is Damian Lillard picking up consistency in his scoring. After a horror stretch of three games where the Portland legend failed to make over 2 threes, he has managed to hit nylon on 19 threes over the past three games. Furthermore, his game-high 34 points are among the chief reasons the Bucks could turn things around.

Initially drowning by 10 points, Milwaukee required an unquestioned second-half performance to inspire a fight. They though took it up a notch, outscoring the Jazz by 27 in the last two quarters, Defensively, their 13 steals tonight were the highest this season. Their tenacity to get stops and attack quick is what enabled the squad to break their losing streak.

Still, the heavy influx of points still came from their explosive tandem. However, given the Bucks’ disorientation in the games prior, the sign is one that could be indicative of better things to come. Do you think the Milwaukee Bucks can turn their season around?
