Stephen Curry & Co. are getting scattered like ninepins in Cleveland! The Warriors’ score at half-time showed that the Cavaliers were up by a whopping 41 points! And this, despite the team at full strength. The Cavs, for their part, seem to have arrived with a massive chip on their shoulder, already leading the league with a flawless 9-0 record.
Except for Jonathan Kuminga, not one player in the Dubs had scored in double-digits at halftime. Kerr’s squad just couldn’t get in rhythm after the Cavaliers went on a 20-2 run to start the game. From that moment, it was clear that this matchup was going to take a one-sided direction. The ‘City of Light’ was on a hot streak, sinking 65.9% of their shots which included an impressive 15 three-pointers!
At this point, it wouldn’t be surprising if they indeed break the record for the most threes in a single game. As of now, the reigning champions hold that title. The Celtics decided to make a little history on the night they got their championship rings, tying the Bucks for the most triples in a game – 29 – in their 132-109 win over the Knicks. Milwaukee had achieved the same feat on December 29, 2020, in their 144-97 victory against Miami.

Going back to ‘The 216’, Isaac Okoro was one of the night’s biggest surprises. The forward scored 16 points in the first half, draining 4 treys and 6 field goals. Moreover, Evan Mobley chipped in 14 points, while Darius Garland added 11 points and 6 assists. With everything seemingly going their way, was there any hope for the Dubs?
The fans certainly do not think so. In fact, they have a special request to the league.
Warriors fans plead for Cavs to be drug tested after red-hot performance vs Stephen Curry & Co.
What’s your perspective on:
Did the Cavs just expose the Warriors' weaknesses, or was it a one-off fluke performance?
Have an interesting take?
Needless to say, it truly was a shocking turn of events. The Golden State just defeated the Celtics in their previous matchup, and fans were expecting another strong performance. And what did we get? A full-strength Warriors suffocated by a Cavaliers team firing on all cylinders, leaving everyone in utter disbelief.
So much so that here’s what one fan said. “Cavs are on PEDs!” reflecting the majority sentiment that Cleveland’s performance was so unexpectedly dominant that it almost seemed unnatural. This tongue-in-cheek comment perfectly encapsulates the surprise and frustration of fans who were hoping for a spectacular game.
Continuing the same thought is this next user. “Drug test these n—-s, I knew they are taking compound V!!!!!” an exaggerated and rather creative comment. Why, you ask? Compound V is a reference from the popular satirical superhero TV series, The Boys, where the fictional blue serum gives anyone who takes it or comes in contact with it superhuman abilities.

With this comparison, this guy is humorously suggesting that the Cavs’ insane performance looked like they had superpowers or an unfair advantage beyond what any regular player could achieve.
Yet another fan seems genuinely confounded as they wrote, “Cavs need to be drug tested cus wth.” They were truly perplexed with Cleveland’s gameplay that it felt almost too good to be true – almost like they were searching for an explanation for such an outcome!
This next individual decided to make a demand after the ‘City of Lights’ defeated the Golden State 136-117. Definitely a lesser margin than the 41-point difference at halftime! “I need everyone drug tested TODAY.”

And finally, this last user changed the route slightly, asking a question instead. “Bro what are they feeding these guys,” followed by a crying-a-river emoji, hilariously implying that the Cavs players must be receiving some sort of superfood to reach this level of performance!
Clearly, the Dub Nation was left stunned at the Cavaliers’ unexpected blowout of the Warriors. Whether it was “Compound V” or some mythical superfood fueling their play, fans couldn’t help but marvel at the dominant display, leading to an entertaining mix of humor and disbelief across social media.
