The Golden State Warriors are now in danger of falling short of the play-in tournament, let alone the playoffs. After a humiliating defeat to the Indiana Pacers on Friday, Stephen Curry and Co. have extended their losing streak with another disappointing loss to the Minnesota Timberwolves today. Despite tying the game in the late fourth quarter, the Warriors fell prey to the T-Wolves, 114-110, because of a poor defense. Draymond Green, who was quite helpless on the court today, shared his frustration with the “bad habits” that the Warriors are portraying lately.
Green finished the game with 12 points, 8 rebounds, and 3 assists, but his defense did not make a mark today. This was the case against the Pacers too. The 2016 DPOY was questioned about the “extended film session” of the Pacers game, and he replied, “Yeah, it was nasty. We had control at every game at one point… We just gave it up“. When asked for a solution to close out games in the fourth quarter, Green mentioned that the Warriors must develop great habits. However, he said, “I don’t think we have great habits”.

Stephen Curry, who played only 29 minutes, was the leading scorer of the team, with 31 points. Although every starter other than Brandin Podziemski had a double-digit score, the Warriors were struggling to get a basket late in the fourth quarter. In just a blink of an eye, the Warriors are now 36-34 in the Western Conference. They are 2 games behind the Los Angeles Lakers, but just a game ahead of the Houston Rockets.

Ime Udoka’s Rockets are 9-1 in their last 10 games and are currently on an 8-game win streak. The young core is adamant about making it to the playoffs, and the next game is possibly the decider. The Warriors are facing the 5th-seed Orlando Magic and the 7th-seed Miami Heat from the East. However, the Rockets relatively have an easy game next, against the Portland Trail Blazers. They are also facing the Oklahoma City Thunder later, but the winning streak might come in handy.
The next few games are very crucial for the Dub Nation. But Draymond Green has boldly mentioned, “I don’t give a damn about the Rockets”. It looks like seriousness has not hit the 4x champion yet. With the regular season coming to an end, let’s hope the Warriors at least secure the play-in spot to fight for playoffs.
