After singing praises of the 9-time Grammy-winning artist, Smith said this about Rihanna, “There is one thing she is not. She ain’t Beyonce.” Beyonce has won a whopping 32 Grammys over the course of her music career and is considered the biggest pop star in history by many. Stephen A.’s comments enraged the fans immediately, and the crowd started booing the ESPN analyst.
Addressing the backlash from his comments, Stephen A. said, “People are looking for an excuse to b**ch and moan, and so they’re going to have that kind of attitude, and they’re going to feel that way.” Stephen A. revealed that he was shocked by the reaction of the fans, “I thought it was indicative of the times that we live in.” His comments were not to disrespect Rihanna in any way.
